About Our Area
When "Siberia" is mentioned, often people have mental
pictures of freezing cold weather. Well, they are
right... half of the time. Although Siberian winters
do last approximately 6 months and the temperatures can drop
to -40F, the rest of the year can be quite warm.
Average summer temperature is around 90F.
Novosibirsk is the largest city of Siberia,
the vast region of northern Asia east of the
Ural Mountains. Like most of Siberia’s urban
centers, the city is located in the south
along the Trans-Siberian Railroad. The
majority of Siberia is sparsely populated.
